I've only played XCOM: Enemy Unknown, but I liked it.

and if you don't mind RPGs, Divinity: Original Sin 2 is a CRPG that has strategy-like mechanics.

Playing Fell Seal: Arbiter's mark right now. It's very much a retake on the first FFT game. It's alright but I'm about halfway through and starting to feel burned out. Battles take forever and just like FFT there's a ninja class that makes all other melee classes useless. Classes are not as fun as FFT either.

Also I really liked how the first major boss was almost Queklain in terms of both arena and sprite.

It's more akin to FFT:A, imo. I do like Fell Seal's use of buffs/debuffs and the robust class system allows for a variety of top-tier builds. My personal favorite is the knight/gunner who just slams One For All and provides constant followup damage.

But, yeah, the battles are a bit of a slog at about the halfway point.

I just played the Mercenaries Saga games. They were basic, but fun. You can get the first three in a Switch bundle for $30.

This one isnt a SRPG, but I moved on to FFXII afterwards. I used to despise this game, but Im actually having a lot of fun with it.
