Sure, it might not be 100% protection but it is some protection.

Also other possible lies:

1. Anyone can take the test [nope, NYS stopped giving people tests unless they are literally rushed into the hospital for breathing aid via a ventilator]
2. Food is stocked [nope, cause hoarders are ruining everything. There is going to be a huge amount of shortage for bread and eggs soon]

Those silly cloth masks that are fads in Asia work very poorly to not at all

They're lacking masks that actually work. The rigid ones that form a seal

Stop spreading your bullshit misinformation.

There aren't enough PPE for people working in healthcare, and sure even a poorly worn mask may be better than none but when kept in prolonged exposure to people if you don't have a proper fitting/designed one you may as well have worn nothing.

There are also many more patients we need to interact with, than people with Covid-19, who need us wearing PPE for their safety and ours.

In short, don't be a fucking moron please, I am sure you can be better than that.

The masks are for catching liquid particulates that virus live in from the wearer.

If a surgeon is working on your open wound and he sneezes, the mask will catch the particulate and not transfer it to your open wound.

Those cheap cloth masks don't do much or anything to protect you from receiving virus via regular breathing since there are so many gaps on the sides and there aren't perfect seals.

A real mask would have full face seal, and that's FAR more expensive than those cheapo cloth masks.

The real purpose is for each individual to reduce their particulate spread through coughing, sneezing, talking to others (where tiny spit particles fly out) since the cloth will catch the particulates.

Most people are at risk because of this lie. Most people aren't hoarding 3M masks. If they don't have one they can use something like a scarf to cover themselves. Outright saying, don't cover your face is plain wrong.

in the past week i've seen two people remove their mask (with their hands...) to ask a question to staff, and i saw one person remove their mask, sneeze openly, and return the mask.

don't defend these people wasting supplies that others actually need.

How am I defending these people? I am trying to state for a fact that masks, though not 100%, helps reduce droplets from infecting you?

Not everyone is out there buying masks cause there are none to buy on the market to begin with!!!

If they didn't outright lie, people could use scarf, clothing, etc to cover their faces. How hard is it to grasp this concept?
