Topic.

For my company, the decision is down to the group (each group is ~20 people).

For my group specifically:
Half of my group will be in the office M/W/Fr, the other half will be in the office Tu/Th this week. Next week, swap. We are "expected to work from home" on the days that we are not in the office, but due to the nature of our work, we cannot actually work from home; so it's just free time at home.

The best deal I heard from other groups:
Schedule three 4 hour days at the office, stay home the rest.

The worst deal I heard from other groups:
Three 12 hour days and one 4 hour day at the office. Schedule this such that half of the group is not in the office.

As myself and my friends in these other groups are all salaried, this is pretty great. For represented employees, the company still has not negotiated a proper "time off from work" policy with the union reps; so they have to go to work as normal schedules.

I work at Safway, and we've had significant changes. We have shopping hours designated for the elderly and other people most at risk for the virus. We've also closed the caf seating area and the in-store Starbucks and halted refunds and rainchecks. We're also taking greater care in cleaning up and sanitizing our workspaces.

We were told that we should be receiving pay that averages the amount of tips we made in the past 3 months. Unfortunately the last week significantly lowered that average and my time was probably only 28-30 hours. I'm a little nervous to see how much it'll be.

I started spring festival on January 18th. I was supposed to return to work on February 12th. I likely won't return to working until mid April.

School in mainland China.

Also, I am not being paid for any of February or March (well I am, but it equates to about 10% of my salary).

I heard people went to the beach when they closed the schools in Portugal. Are people taking things seriously?

I am WFH and have found it okay thus far.

I do have some work going on thankfully cos im a bit worried about what happens if this is still ongoing in the medium term. unfortunately we've already hit our fee quote on one thing and it keeps running on and on which isn't good.

i wouldn't be surprised to see mass paycuts in a month or two. that'd be preferable to mass layoffs at least

They're making us work more. Seriously. It's a fucking lawncare company.

I do customer service/data entry, it's an office job. And they don't give us a work from home option, and won't give us any compensation if we get quarantined. Fuck this company so hard.

While Im sure spring cleanups are one of the busiest times for landscaping, is that wise to have 3-5 men in trucks driving around all day? Feel for and laborers, construction etc you might end up at job sites full of people with the virus.
