Tbh it's not really bad. They're totally overreacting. The whole world is imo. This doesn't even spread airborne. I don't get it.

It's a circus at supermarkets tbh. Tons of food items are sold out for some reason. Bread, meats, sometimes water.

The American populace at large is in denial and carrying on as usual. Check back in about 1-2 weeks.

This. We had the opportunity to go South Korea's path. Idiots prevailed and now we're solidly headed for Italy

Tell that to Italy. You are getting blinded by the fact that it's only starting in USA.

USA is not going to have it as bad as Europe. European cities are very crowded and there is a lot less personal space. Americans are, by and large, pretty independent and even in cities keep their distance from one another. That being said, it is going to get bad, but only in specific, isolated areas.

Except a good chunk of our country is fucking stupid and is spending time they should be spending practicing self-quarantine going to Walmart and Applebees this weekend.

The ignorance is bliss aspect of America is in full bloom for this one. My expectations are that this virus is going to rampage through homeless shelters, retirement homes, nursing homes and hospitals. It will have a mortality rate of over 15% at the minimum in those locations, especially in the shelters and retirement homes. Schools need to be shut down for all grades, and everyone needs access to multiple tests not just one and the costs associated with this virus are going to cripple elderly lower middle class people.

It's going to send the country into economic turmoil, Goldmen Sachs forcast a -5% return on the 2nd qtr...that's all you need to know about the country as a whole. We are operating at -5% of efficiency for a potential Spanish Flu 2.0. Not to mention the overall shitshow America is due to trump right now this virus is just the cherry on top for the shittiest era in America's history since the great depression.

Ironically Trump buried Coronavirus and refused testing for weeks and weeks to make his Presidency look good.

Now it looks like that will backfire on him majorly over the Spring lol

Depends where you live. Some states already have some bans of bars, restaurants, etc like NY.
https://nowthisnews.com/news/coronavirus-a-list-of-us-state-bans-and-closures

Large gatherings are pretty much banned everywhere.

Grocery stores are busier with less food, but mostly paper towels, toilet paper, sanitizers, are sold out

I live in Japan too. I actually was trapped in Wuhan during the lockdown. Did 2 weeks at an Air Force base in the US after an evacuation flight and then finally got back here. It's crazy how few cases are reported here. My work is just requiring you to stay home if sick. Other than that we're operating normally.
