Comfy_Pillow 03/14/20 6:41:00 PM #1:	Why was cloud such a competent fighter when the story straight up tells you he was too much of a loser to hack it in the SOLDIER program? Like what prompted him to be able to toss sephiroth into the pit after being impaled? I just asumed Hojo experimenting gave him a boost. The protagonist will always overcome the antagonist despite being over matched, because force of wills and the antagonist not taking the protagonist seriously. Comfy_Pillow posted... Maybe the Mako bath and confusing his identity with Zack's was all that was needed to make him semi competent. In all honesty, none of the characters outside of Tifa expressed any real competency in fighting. Comfy_Pillow posted... Hojo experimented on him and Zack as being the only two survivors of the Nibelheim incident. Probably sought to create a new Sephiroth if he couldn't clone him.
