Current Events > My job made us have a 30 minute mandatory meeting about the virus thing

It was basically just half an hour of them telling us to wash our hands and giving us a few new cleaning tasks

Here is what I want to know though, if you get it, are you like quarantined? I need to finish my Masters if I catch it what happens if I don't tell anyone?

Ours was 5 minutes. Im a cleaner though so its not like i have to change much.

Just basic cleaning/ hygiene.

There is no mandatory quarantine in the states. Most who get it are being hospitalized so it can be contained but those who arent are just strongly advised to stay in the house for roughly 14 days from the date of contact with the virus.

so technically you dont have to stay in but you risk spreading it to others if you dont so it really just becomes a how selfish are you situation.

Well I mean the thing is I'm finishing my Masters online with distance education, could I at least run home and get my computer and then come back?

as long as you take precautions from spreading your germs around publicly you'd probably be fine. Its not like you'll be arrested if you accidentally give it to someone.

We had a meeting too. We were told that we have to take mandatory 2 weeks off (half paid) if we have cold/flu like symptoms.

I've had what I'm fairly certain is sinus infection which has similar symptoms. I was told that I need to get a doctors note to confirm. I instead asked for the two weeks and was told to just keep coming to work since I'm essential staff.

So basically we wasted everyone's time.

What I got told is that if we visit another country once we get back to the USA we have to wait 15 days to come back. A few people are planning on leaving the country soon like my friend Matt who is going to Paris and they are low key worried now.

Most Americans will continue to go to work even if they know they have it. Others will just do what they can to spread the virus as a reparation for their current life conditions.

No one is going to tackle you and tie you up somewhere or force you under gun point to stay indoors. :P Just for the sake of others please wear a mask.

this alone will help spare others in case of sickness.
