a struggling antique shop owner buys a bottle out of sympathy from a poor woman, but it ends up having a genie inside

after wasting one of (his four) wishes for the genie to fix a broken glass on one of his displays, he and his wife wish for a million dollars.

but after giving a bunch away and being taxed to hell, they're only left with about $5.

being distrustful of the genie screwing them over with unforseen consequences of the wishes they make, the dude wishes to become the ruler of a contemporary foreign nation, who can't be voted out of power.

his wish is granted, and he becomes Hitler in the bunker before he kills himself

obviously he uses his last wish to undo it all, but that was some top tier trolling from the genie.
