It already does anyways but the Coronavirus will spread much easier without sick leave. And a lot of times it wont be the person sick who suffers but the families of those it spreads to. Some newborn catches it from their Father who was grabbing groceries because the bagger came in sick because he will be evicted if he doesnt.

We need mandatory paid sick leave + additional mandatory unpaid sick leave for ALL jobs in the country. Flu season and other outbreaks would likely be a lot less severe if people were able to stay home when sick without missing rent or losing their jobs.

Its been that way for most of human history(if they didnt just straight up enslave you) tbh but the USA kinda fell behind a solid chunk of the planet in recent years

most likely companies will look at using machines to do as much as possible. like when grocery stores shifted to mostly using the self-checkout machines. backfired though, since elderly don't understand new machines very easily and hold up lines

Jobs like baggers/stockers have no rights. They can get fired at anytime. If they show up coughing employer can just fire them and hire someone else. Or start doing self checkout to eliminate cashiers which many companies are already doing.

Yup. People seem to be under the impression that the government cares about poor people. On the contrary. Im sure theyd be happy if a % of the poor in this country died over night.

As someone who sold their soul to the United States Federal Government,

If I were to get sick with the Corona,

I'd get unlimited paid sick days til I got better. I'd get free healthcare and hospitalization (if required) til I was better.

If people are selling their souls for employment, maybe they should find better employers

I'll go behind the counter and cook my own burgers and fries so that the government doesn't have to force companies to pay sick pay to those minimum wage people, I'll also work the cash register and make sure to ask everyone if they want fries with that, for free.

Something to help out your mind at ease
Kiddos (including babies), are less susceptible to Covid than we originally suspected. IIRC, every child that has come down with Covid has recovered in a matter of days and every case has been extremely mild.

I remember reading that some politician in (I think) Isreal was gonna take advantage of that and use kids to clean things up.
