Got a $250 bonus(taxed but still) along with my regular check and at the end of shift this morning asked a couple people if they got one as well(we get quarterly bonuses sometimes) and they said no.

I'm kinda itching to call HR to see what it's about but on one hand don't wanna call and have them say, "Oh we made a mistake, we'll just deduct that from your next check", on the other hand I want to know what it was for

Keep it and shut up or call and find out?

keep it. but don't spend it until you know it's safe. unless you know you'll have enough money for your bills on whichever check you get.

have gotten stiffed on my paper route check before i got over double my normal paycheck but then they stiffed everyone working the next month to practically a small allowance. i was peeved (this was during the transition where they paid the paperboy/girl instead of collecting from subscribers).

They'll do that anyway if it wasn't intentional. Talk to them so it's not a surprise

Keep it until you know it's safe. My company once accidentally direct deposited my base three times in the day, but they were able to recall two of them somehow.

Has happened to me twice. Dont say shit.

I once got an extra $550 on a check. Waited till a month to spend it. The other time i got an extra 8 hours on my paystub.

My boss did that a few times. He accidentally screwed up my vacation time by paying me extra for the days I took off instead of deducting my hours from PTO. Brought them to his attention and he let me keep them each time.


Part of me thinks I should, don't want it to come back and bite me in the ass like, "Oh we made a mistake but why didn't you report it? Stealing money from the company huh? You're fired!"

Plus I want to know if it's a bonus for being the best worker at the warehouse(not trying to brag, just facts), it would be interesting if that's how they're showing a little appreciation

Don't get it twisted, I use some of my PTO I earn just not my sick leave(mandatory by law last year here in Michigan). 40 hours of sick leave dropped in beginning of the year from here on out and whatever you didn't use the previous year rolls over to PTO.

Plus we got the 5-point system(you reach 5 points for no call/no show, too many write-ups, etc. and you're done) and the only point I've ever taken was early February last year because of bronchitis, so I guess the year-long perfect attendance count started after that.

People are always shocked when I say with the PTO/sick leave/0 points I got accumulated I got pretty much 14 days I can play with, meanwhile everyone else has burned through their 40hrs of sick leave already (it's only March!), they use the PTO they earn as soon as they get it or teeter on the edge of being fired(3 or 4 points)

Guess I'm just comfortable having that cushion to take time off whenever I want instead of having to wait to earn it.
