I have an interest in vintage clothing. Over 10 years I have collected classical men's wear pieces from almost all decades of the 20th century, minus the 1910s, and also I have a collection of vintage hats. I could probably tell you generally the date of a clothing piece by eye, in general even modern pieces styled after vintage styles, usually for movies or tv, often fail to get the right fabric weight down. Vintage fabric is built like a tank. But that's mostly stopped except now I have an interest in vintage European hats, especially Italian ones like Borsalino and Barbiso. Thankfully I know a kind older Italian gentleman who has hooked up back in Italy.

Used to collect baseball cards and comic books. It became too much of an 'industry' and not a hobby for some people. The money involved became ridiculous so I got out.

Nowadays I still have a few comics from the 70's & 80's that I keep mostly for sentimental reasons. I have accumulated about 5 bobbleheads over the years but I wouldn't call myself a collector.

Anyone have ideas of a good thing to collect for someone who bikes a lot in the city? I need more reasons to get out when I don't have an actual destination. Don't say PGo, cause that's already in play. Some days I just ain't into it.

You could try geocaching. Ill actually do outings like that where I will ride my bike somewhere in the city and search for geocaches in the area of a few city blocks or so.

it also ties into my own collecting in that I like to collect pins but only those that I find (or are given to me as a gift) and pins will sometimes be found in geocaches (I keep some random knickknacks and foreign coins that I leave in exchange)

Heres a picture of them (keep them in my office at work right now)
