I was reading a twitter thread earlier comparing Italys initial breakout to Wuhan and its eerie how they mirror each other. Ill try to see if I can find it again.

New York is off to a similar growth as Italy, too.

Went to Walmart today.

the media certainly did its job of causing hysteria.

no hand soap, no sanitizers, no paper towels or tissues, no hand wipes, no bleach and other major cleaning supplies. Low non perishables.

corona virus doesnt scare me, what does scare me is the fact that society isnt this hygiene conscious by default.

It too late for that. People instead will look to the US as a learning experience of how to not fuck this up. CDC not testing a nurse because "if you were wearing the recommended protective equipment then you wouldn't have the coronavirus".

US has tested around 1,900 people last I checked with NY only having tested 119 people. US should have done thousands more tests by now.

My family are being denied the test so this is unsurprising. I I haven't been posting because until there is more confirmed cases in the u.s. I know no one will believe me. If I feel up to it I will provide details of how it began, the symptoms, and what we have been dealing with in regards to the U.S. dropping the ball on how they are handling our care. There are also some symptoms we are experiencing that aren't listed anywhere or at least that we couldn't find. Such as mid and upper right quadrant pain and lower left quadrant pain. Basically go to your belly button and slightly to the right. As well as higher up. Then lower left side. I started off much sicker than my wife and randomly the next day got far sicker than I was but she suffers from asthma so that could be why. We are under house self imposed quarantine.

Here in Utah, the only case was brought in from the Diamond cruise. But we haven't got the testing kits yet, and since one of the infected people in Seattle got it in early January, I'm pretty sure it's everywhere.

PSA: Even if you come into contact, or cross path with an infected person, it doesn't mean you'll get it too 100%. Just thought I'll share that because there are alot of ppl who believe they'll be infected if the person so much as look in their direction.

They said outright the reason they aren't calling it a pandemic is because they no longer use that word as a classification.

One of the first cases in Wuhan had those symptoms. Doctors put the patient into a surgery ward thinking they may need surgery (I think they thought it was appendicitis) and there they infected the whole ward

Wasn't aware of that so thanks for that information. We both have similar pain and thought it curious we couldn't find anything on it. Right now I can't sleep. Too hot and the pain is keeping me up. Been awake all night.

More than 10 health care workers in this department were presumed to have been infected by this patient. Patient-to-patient transmission also was presumed to have occurred, and at least 4 hospitalized patients in the same ward were infected, and all presented with atypical abdominal symptoms. One of the 4 patients had fever and was diagnosed as having nCoV infection during hospitalization. Then, the patient was isolated. Subsequently, the other 3 patients in the same ward had fever, presented with abdominal symptoms, and were diagnosed as having nCoV infection.

Not confirmed. Struggling to get tested. They denied us the test despite having all the symptoms. I live in N.C. Only a few confirmed. Symptoms started off as minor and we joked about having the corona virus for a few days. Symptoms got worse and I told my wife we might actually have it. It started off as a itchy throat. Progressed into a cough followed by a light fever that turned into a 102 fever. Pain started up in the lower right side. Breathing began to get difficult followed by pain in the right breast area. Hurts around there. Also suffering from dehydration. Medicine for cold and flu symptoms isn't doing anything to take the edge off. I am 100% confident we will power through it but felt like sharing the experience.

That jamanetwork link has a lot of details, they talk about your symptoms. Pretty sure you have it as well. I think you should go back to a hospital and explain your case. Hospitals and people in general are taking this way more seriously, I think they may hear you out

Thanks for the link and yeah early on we tried the hospital but weren't really taken seriously. Given the rise of cases we may have better luck now. Not sure what more they can do for us and kind of worried about infecting more people. I guess more cases known and maybe if we can figure out a link we can aid a larger effort of figuring out the spread so I think I will pay the doctors a visit. I don't envy the doctors dealing with this though lol. Also the abdominal issue is one of the issues they used originally to discredit us so will use the link in our favor.
