Trying to leave my shitty day job. I mean it pays damn good but I dont like it lol. Anyone ever have good luck with phone interviews? I have never done one before, all mine in person (or skype)

I dont think Ive never not had a phone interview first. Treat it like any interview. Sound enthusiastic, be concise in your answers and make sure you have relevant questions to ask as well. Good luck.
