If you have easy access to them sure. If it's too much trouble just stick to the HD ports/remakes.

The remake of 2 is ok from what I've heard but it changed some things from the original version.

The remake of 3 is removing Mercenaries mode and i hope 4 isn't remade because it's fine how it is.

I would definitely recommend the original Resident Evil 2 at least. The controls take a little getting used to, but the overall gameplay, atmosphere and immersion are still amazing, and it'll be interesting to compare it to the remake. If nothing else, give that one a shot.

Waiting for them to put together an ultra mega bundle of every RE game since theyre all available on these systems now. Gonna be LIT.

REmake is by far the best in the series. 3 is probably my second favorite.

Play the old ones before you play the new ones. Going back to the old style after playing a modern title will be shocking to say the least. If you have a PS4 get the origins collection, it goes for pretty cheap. Also CVX is always available for download and it plays well on the console.

The great games in this series you can find easily: Resident Evil Origins Collection, Resident Evil 2(2019), Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 5, Resident Evil 7, and the upcoming remake Resident Evil 3 (2020).

Avoid Resident Evil 6 it is a shit game and many people who like it either hate the other RE games or never played a real RE game before that one. The actual fans of RE hate 6 because it is over the top stupid and jumped the shark to the point fan back lash is why RE 7 returned to the survival horror roots.

I definitely recommend REmake as well, but I'd warn you that it's a relatively difficult game, even on the easier setting. This isn't necessarily a count against it, but difficulty can make certain games a little more frustrating (it can for me, at least) so I just thought I'd mention it. I think the original RE2 is significantly easier, so even if you do get frustrated with the first game's remake, I'd still recommend trying that.

Nah I liked it and I'm a big RE fan. It's probably the worst one out of the first 6 games (haven't played 7 yet) but it's still fun in its own ways even if it's ridiculous and makes no sense.

RE6 is a good TPS gameplay wise. If you liked the RE movies then you might like this. Its also got 4 full complete campaigns, which is actually rare for games.

Id just start with RE2 Remake and go from there.

As much as I hate to be that guy who thinks he gets to decide who the real fans are, it does seem odd that you claim to be a big fan but haven't played 7 when it's been out for over 3 years.

If you liked that, try literally all the others. The only ones that I would say are worse than the REmake of 2 are 6, Code Veronica, 0 and the first Revelations. The only ones of those that are actually bad games are 6 and 0.

Ok you got me, I'm not THAT big of a fan. Lol but in all seriousness I've been finding it hard to find the motivation to play games for quite a while now and I also just rarely buy games that aren't dirt cheap since I have too many as it is
