As far as prices go V, VI, and VII are definitely not worth it unless you're like me and just want physical complete copies of the whole series

I would buy loose carts of V and VI and download VII on the PS4 or Steam or whatever. I just like to have the authentic experience

The rest of the games were around $20

Doesn't surprise me that FFVI was the most expensive if you're buying CIB. Nobody kept their GBA boxes back in the day.

Be aware that the Royal Edition is missing a piece of story DLC that's pretty important imo. They put in on sale once in a while so I'd pick it up when it's $5 or something.

It was quite expensive for what it is. I paid $57.99 for VI CIB

Other contributing factors:
There is not an objectively better version of the game available in the US.
FFVI is highly regarded.
It has an updated translation compared to FF3 which I believe is more technically accurate.

If there was a proper port that wasn't the hideous mobile/Steam version, I bet that game would be like 1/2 to 2/3 the price.

You're probably right, which is pretty lame. Maybe if the Vita did better we'd have FFV and FFVI ports on there.

I'd kill for a FF4 Complete type port of 6. They should have done those 2 on PSP or DS instead of GBA

But better to buy 6 Advance now because it'll probably be $140 in 5 years

I've been wanting to really get into the Final Fantasy series myself. But...the only ones I own are FF1 (Wii VC) and FFXII Zodiac Age, which I haven't played yet.

Kind of...odd choices I know, lol.

I could see Square doing one final FF1-10 release in a steelcase, with a bunch of ports, an art book, and a soundtrack. One of those deals.

I wouldnt be on it, but I could totally see it happening. A final cash grab.

Everything. The world, the gameplay, the music.

It's the perfect Final Fantasy

I also played it when I was 14 back when it came out so it was a huge impact on me JRPG.

I did play VII and VIII before tho

I will be buying the side games next. Interlude and The After Years came with IV complete and X-2 came with X
