I'll be legitmately scared when news about prevention methods and what symptoms to look for outstrip articles about how afraid I should be. I think people are just looking for a pandemic again. I've been trhough scares for SARS, Bird flu, mad cow, and ebola. This looks familiar.

Im stressed more about the stock market than anything. My stocks have all plummeted and Im not sure to panic sell now or not. Im still relatively new to the stock market.

Never panic sell. Just keep holding on, unless you desperately need the cash.

Try to hold onto some cash so you can buy a shit ton of stuff if the overall market keeps tanking. Rinse and repeat.

Its impossible to say. If we start experiencing large scale quarantine like china is going through, it could get pretty bad.

The best advice is to only put in money you are okay with losing

The penalty between being paranoid then and being paranoid now, is that the person got to enjoy not being paranoid for longer. So what did posters here really lose? Is it a win to let it complicate your life earlier on?

In fairness, I do that on occasion. I don't have a car and it's easier to beg a ride and get a few month's worth at once than trying to carry those things home on the bus once a week.

It's just another flu. Now we have two seasonal assholes. Eventually once this spreads everywhere like flu has it'll be treated exactly as flu.

So be just as afraid of this as flu. If you're afraid of that, be afraid. If you're not, then don't.

It's just the flu, bro. China shut down entire provinces, Japan closed all schools, just like the flu. Just a little case of the sniffles caused the Dow Jones to drop 3000 points. Just the sniffles, a little coof, nothing to worry about.

I contracted bird flu and it almost killed me. I'm not worried about corona, but mostly because I can completely stay out of contact with other people for at least a month if I have to.

That's fair. It's fine to be cautious I guess. I just think some people over think it. Stay as healthy as you can is the best thing you can do. And stay away from Asian people.....
