I'm guessing I need specialized help because I've got a black screen on any source I try to record from and none of the "how to" videos and posts online are working.

I vaguely remember running into the same problem in the past. I think what I did was to switch the graphics processor to my inbuilt Intel one rather than my GPU (or was it the other way around?).
