Mine too. I'm 29 and I find it weird that people my age have living grandparents.

Never known my great grandparents, my grandparents all died in the last 5 years and even my parents have both died in the past year

Probably because each generation had kids when they were younger instead of waiting for midlife.

If every generation of a family had kids when they were teenagers then thered be people existing alongside their great great grandparents.

I'm 40 and still have one living grandmother. I lost my other three grandparents in the last ten years. Even growing up, I had a vague sense that I was lucky to have all four still living, and I was definitely lucky to have all four for as long as I did.

I knew two great-grandmothers, though not very well. My timeline is a little hazy, but I think one of these lived to see me graduate high school, though not college.

I'm 36

All of my grandparents on my mom's side died by the time I was 11. Her father died a year before I was born.

My dad's parents died when he was a teenager, and I've only met a couple of his cousins otherwise. I believe any great grandparents from his side were gone before I was born.

and my dad is gone now too so if I ever have kids they'll never know him.

I am 40 my last Grandmother died last year, I knew one of my great grandmother who's first husband was killed on the Warspite during WW2 she died in the late 80's.

My great grandma passed about 7 years ago and my great grandpa about 4 years ago. I'm 31 now.

My family had a history of having children very young.

Both grandfathers passed away before I was born. One when I was 10 and didn't know her that well, other I lived with for years but had Alzheimer's. Her antics warped my childhood self's thinking into believing old people were worthless.

That is insanity, a mother outliving her son. Granted McCain had cancer (correct?) and it's a shame that a mother has to bury her son, but that's still incredible she's over 100!

I've met two of my great grandmothers. One's not alive anymore (she died in the early 2000s), not sure about the other. I've still got a living grandmother. My dad's stepdad is also alive.

Anyway, its not that weird imo, some people have kids pretty young.
