in California to teach Physics you need to pass a Bio and Chem general competency test. (To actually teach Bio or Chem you need to take another specific harder version of your content area)

well maybe a bit for lower level physics. But high level physics is HIGHLY conceptual as well as mathematical

Otherwise all mathematicians would be the best physicists and thats not the case :)

He's probably referring to physics classes being generally more difficult than Math to work through.
