Between this and his 60 Minutes interview a couple of days ago when he admit he had no idea how much some of his other plans will cost, it's becoming more and more clear that he hasn't actually thought through how to do any of the shit he wants to do, and he's just throwing out promises.

Sen. Bernie Sanders released a list on Monday evening outlining how he'd pay for his biggest plans, including Medicare for All, the Green New Deal, and the elimination of $1.6 trillion in American student debt. He announced the list during a CNN town hall.

But the released document doesn't fully match his own estimates of how much some of his proposals could cost. In a recent interview on CBS's "60 Minutes," Sanders said Medicare for All would cost $30 trillion over 10 years.

Sanders identified nine methods to finance the plan. Together, they would raise around $17.5 trillion over a decade.

Marc Goldwein, the senior policy director for the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, a nonpartisan organization, said in a tweet that the identified revenue options were "well short of what is needed" to cover the ambitious plan.

Why even release a tax plan if you know the sum is far less than what you yourself said ONE of your proposals would cost literally only 2 days earlier? After admitting that you have no idea what most of your other plans are going to cost, either. It's like he isn't even trying.

IIRC, that 30 trillion includes costs the federal government is already paying, in terms of Medicare and medicaid.

Guess if he wanted people to support it he should have just said that he would make Mexico pay for it instead of giving any actual detailed analysis.

My hope with Bernie is we'll get adjusted, realistic versions of his plans due to meddling from other people.

I really do think his heart is in the right place and that puts him above all these other phonies.

Pretty much. The change better not be tax more to pay insane prices to health companies. It should be you get this fixed margin payment for this product or service.

Correct. 2018 Medicare and Medicaid expenditures totaled $1.3 Trillion, so even assuming no increases for a decade we'd be spending somewhere near $13 Trillion through federal expenditures anyways. Funnily enough, Bernie's proposed taxes here add up to $17.5 Trillion, which when combined with the current expenditures just so happens to get us to that $30 Trillion mark. Would you imagine that.

Idk why trying to implement a grandiose thing like M4A, something the people have proven unwilling to pay for, not in taxs, a cut in benefits, social security, no nothing, is even on the table.
