If Roll happens to be destroyed while out fighting, then who will do all of the cooking and cleaning for Dr. Light? No, the risk is too great for him to chance it.

It was an attempt to create a way for lesbian and gay couples to have biological children of their own

But they thought it was too adult a concept for a kids show and so never mentioned it

Rock/Megaman wasn't created as a combat robot either. He's modified after Wily controls the robot masters.

anyway, it took 20 years until they have a female robot master, and she's still the only one in the series.

Does every character have to be a fighter?

It's a little conspicuous when the only female is the only non-combatant, but that could be easily resolved by introducing a new character instead of making the robot equivalent of the Michelle from Full House into a robo-warrior.

Seeing as mega and roll are essentially equals, its weird that the girl just wont fight. More so considering theyre robots so genders mean even less.

And they never gave a reason why not? And finally, the orginal name of Rock man really makes them feel as they should be partners.

Rock was converted because of this emergency.
for future situations Dr Light just create new robots.
if somehow Rock is out of commission and the situation is dire, Roll could have been converted too.

When he was a kid his life was saved by the powepuff girls who traveled time and encountered him being attack by Mojojojo. He then dedicated his life to finding out who they were and that led to the creation of the PPGs.
