The crew find out they're copies of the original and everything, the ship and their bodies start to decay. It ends with them all dying seconds before making contact with the real Voyager, which might've cured them.

Nah, when they got kicked off that planet they knew they were doomed. They just wanted to make contact with the original Voyager so that they could feel like they had some meaning.

Remember when they combined two people into one in a transporter accident then forcibly split that new being into two against his will?

And they did nothing wrong there.

Is this the one where alternate Harry Kim replaces his original counterpart, but then is never spoken of again?

It is not ok to forcibly kill one person to save two others (who are already technically non-existent), especially someone begging for his life, just because it is convenient to the crew and plot.

Nah. It's the one where it turns out they accidentally created copies of themselves like a season before. The episode starts as a typical Voyager episode, but it eventually reveals that the ship you're watching is the copied one. They don't realize it themselves at first and the episode ends with them and their ship falling apart seconds before Voyager reaches them.

And the episode you're talking about also kills an infant child and replaces her too.

That's one of the episodes of Voyager that I remember. Chakotay tells them going to home isnt going to Earth anymore and he kicks the bucket.

IIRC the director for that episode got fired mid-shoot because he was so racist

I looked up the episode and learned that Garret Wang credits the episode for getting him the role of Harry Kim. It was so bad that it led to him never watching and becoming a fan of TNG. He was thus able to audition for Voyager without feeling nervous. Had that happened, they might have actually killed off Harry Kim the way they were planning to before Wang was put on People's sexiest people alive list. Had that happened, they might have kept the far more interesting Kes. Had that happened, maybe her actress wouldn't have lost her mind.

So that episode has a lot to answer for.

Tuvok and Neelix didn't get a choice in the matter. Their lives were seemingly ended by a simple freak accident and something new was created in their place. News of the many, etc. What "is not ok" is simply writing them off. Tuvix did not exist before that accident. Neelix and Tuvok did.

Do you live in the UK? Because they just showed that episode on the Horror Channel. And yeah, it's fucked up. I've seen it before, though.

Tuvix is fucking great and Threshold is more entertaining than most Star Trek episodes.

A really dark episode is Mortal Coil, where Neelix is brought back from death and loses his shit because there is no afterlife.

Nope, I read about it on the Star Trek wiki and watched it on Netflix here on my desktop.
