idk, I know former coworkers who are like that, probably still making $11-13/hr, while I'm now making well over 30 because I job hopped. I learned through experience that a lot of companies really don't treat their seasoned employees well, especially people who started with the company when they were less experienced and decided to stick around. If you stick around too long you could end up training your future boss, lol. I don't have that, but I could for the right company. For now, I'll just be content with getting a check and benefits.

I think it's good that people are having less company loyalty nowadays. If the company doesn't care, why should they?

It's unfortunate that the workplaces most in need of unions are often those with the highest turnover as well. Makes improving those kinds of places an especially arduous task. Unfortunately, most people don't know how to use Unions. Generally, people seem to exploit them to call in all the time, or come up with some BS excuse to be on light duty. They seldom used it for overall improvements in the quality of the job. It was disappointing to watch. --- "Whatever the reason you're on Mars, I'm glad you're there, and I wish I was with you." ~Carl Sagan. Currently playing: Flight Simulator X.~PC ... I've been there longer than 83 of them, and several of those have moved up the ladder faster than me, and have the nerve to come ask me how to do shit. I used to be so blindly loyal but I realized about a year ago the company doesn't give a shit about me. I'm sticking around til my 9th anniversary in a few months for the annual raise then cashing out my 8 weeks of PTO and getting the hell out. --- "I like turtles" ... Copied to Clipboard!
