in Korean dramas, there's this trope where there has to be like a year or so after something "big" happened where the main characters split up. It kinda bothers me because they spend like half the episode just getting to the happy ending and then nothing else. I prefer concrete endings with actual good stuff happening rather than just seeing it.

I've seen some great series where none of this happens but every time I see a time skip..I get bothered.

i mean it doesn't matter all that much if characters are like 15 or something i guess, but the fucking time skip in fe3h got me hard

Yeah I know its in anime but its usually for a set up rather than an ending. One Piece, Naruto, Dragon Ball...all of them used timeskips to move forward and do something new or to power up the heroes in some way.

The timeskips I refer to is something used as a plot device to end a series.
