now this is just my professional opinion as someone who took a psyche class in high school and failed
but i think its a deep rooted insecurity caused by a poor relationship with his mother

i just know the men in it are all hot but it bugs me that there isnt a female party member

I can't remember who it was with but in an interview someone from Square commented on the lack of female characters in 15 and said it was in an effort to explore a specifically male friendship group and that that dynamic is different when there are females involved.

And honestly, I'm good with that and I think the game does that really well.

It's an absolute filthy garbage game, but that aspect is pretty good.

People do that all the time. I remember people complaining about Leo Krugers accent in WWE, saying that his Adam Rose persona was his real accent, only to find out that his real accent is actually leo kruger.

Tellah (and Edward) were fine story-wise, I just hated using them in battle because they were always dead weight for me. At least in the SNES version, I don't know if they were improved in the GBA and DS ones.

Admittedly, Quistis doesn't end up doing much of anything useful or memorable (beyond a superficial appeal of "hottie teacher with a whip"), but at least she wasn't downright irritating like the majority of the cast. Hell, she even had the least annoying Limit Break to deal with.

Quina really had no business being a (permanent) playable character, they literally had nothing to do with anything or anybody (even less than Amarant), and they didn't even make up for it by being funny or cute like other "goofy comic relief" types.

Kimahri barely does more than the previous two... huh, you know, I'm starting to think Square just can't make Blue Mages into compelling characters. Quistis, Quina, Kimahri... even Strago only gets to do so much in the plot because he joins so late in the first half and spends the second half zoned out. (And then Relm steals a lot of the same scenes that he appears in.)

I don't really hate Vaan so much as I just forget he's there, and then I wonder why I couldn't have kept Reddas or Larsa instead. I mean, Penelo is kinda "just there because" as well, but at least she has cuteness/eye candy factor to remind me that she exists.

And Marche is just a selfish fucking asshole.

You don't get bonus points for being the only person in a story about a supposed elite teenage assassination squad who has been written with the ability to not burn your hand if they see a hot stove.

For the record, the only passable main-party playable character in FF8 is Irvine because he has an actual character, as obnoxious as it is. Quistis was fine until she fucked up the assassination plot for the dumbest reason they could have given her and she never recovered as a character.

All objectively worse characters than Wakka.

I mean, Wakka inseminated the chick with the best tits in the entire franchise. That in itself makes him a top 10 FF characters ever.

If anything that might make *more* people hate him.

Not out of jealousy mind you, but rather it's his fault that we were denied Lulu bouncing between Dress Spheres throughout FFX-2, instead we got stuck with the vastly inferior Paine.

I liked Freya well enough, just a pity she becomes irrelevant to the plot after the Burmecian arc is over. Poor thing spends the last 2/3s of the game "just being there" along with Quina and Amarant.
