Yeah, I think at this point it's fair to say that Mario, Peach and Bowser are actually friends, and the setup for the games are just how they like to play. Bowser knows that Mario is never going to kill him, and all 3 of them act like children, and Bowser hasn't killed anyone since SMB1. Hell, SMB3 was them all putting on a play. But hey, the plot in the Mario series really doesn't matter.
