Forget about the initial price, non-analog controller and lack of decent games, but the emulator it used was basically something you could download at home, and there are tons of graphical imperfections and shaky polygons.

Sony always wins, baby.

...Except for the PS1 classic. Nintendo did it right.

What, this isn't Resident Evil? Dying means nothing. It's simply a minor setback, if that.-radioraheem

was a lazy, thoughtless attempt at a quick cash grab by Sony. Glad it failed.

Have you ever played on an actual PS1?

I have, and the dithering and "seams" were nowhere as bad on actual hardware than on emulated hardware. Even if you hack the PS Classic and run a more recent version of its emulator, the problems persist.

What is really weird is Sony has had a near perfect in-house PS1 emulator since the PS3/PSP days and it can clearly run on a variety of hardware, yet they didn't use it.

People get modded when they say theres plenty of things to easily do with a PS Classic to make its pretty awesome.

And it went to $20 at places you could use rewards or discounts to further reduce its price.

what ruined to me the most was the game selection.

both the NES and SNES Classic carried a stellar lineup. Sony just gave us a mixed bag with this one...

Interestingly enough, there are a ton of games referenced within its code that weren't included.

I wonder how the C64 boards handle this, seeing as an disk-image loader is right there in the firmware.
