Traveled Europe for two weeks (Paris, London, and Berlin), Japan for three weeks, Korea for one week, Greece for three weeks, Vegas/canyons (Bryce, Grand, etc.) for one week, and Italy for three weeks...

I would not advise this type of travelling to anyone. I regret going to so many places in so little time:
*It's a lot of money to spend (we saved up for two years to do this, and the idea was to go all out and travel the world before we have a baby; now, we're "broke"),
*It affects your performance at work (I got rated as a below average employee during my performance review due to frequent use of vacation hours and not being around to support emergent issues), and
*All the places "blur" together because it was too many places in too short of a time. It doesn't have the grandeur of traveling, but felt more like "great, another plane to catch", or "great, another beautiful view".

God damn that's awesome. That's better than buying stupid shit to show off to your neighbors.

Oh yea, we have like no furniture or stuff in the house. It's all second hand or ikea stuff lol. We didn't eat out a ton either; just focused on saving money for traveling.

But I would definitely advise spreading these out over a few years and not going in just one year.

The problem I have with going on vacation to a big city is that after 4 or 5 days I'm burnt out.

Especially if you go in the Summer

It's your vacation to use. Why give you that much then bitch when you use it?

Because that's just how it works... Now with this "stain", it'll just be harder for me to get a promotion as the years pass, and it'll affect my lifetime earning potential at this position.

You could have spread this amount of vacationing across years in my opinion. But I'm pretty young still so maybe it's not that big a deal for older folk.

Also what travel credit card did you use if any?

We're both 28 now, turning 29 this year. She wanted to have a baby before 30, so I guess this is the year. We used Chase Sapphire Reserve, which we will be canceling for obvious reasons lol.

That's shitty. Where I work the only people that complain about use of vacation are the nosy whiners that no one takes seriously.

In fact if it gets to around August and you haven't touched vacation our plant manager will come around and ask why.

I traveled to third world countries for 2-3 months every year for a while

$5/day to get by, $10 to live like a king. The views are just as good. I get what you're saying with the whole "cool ANOTHER waterfall" thing though

Wish I could have used that card myself before its changes. I regret not joining the chase family and discoving travel rewards sooner :/

Also was language barriers an obstacle for you doing any of your trips like japan?

Very little. Only in the most rural areas did people not understand basic English to the point I had to wing it.

She regrets spending that much money on just one activity with "nothing to show for it".

It's all second hand

nothing wrong with that. i like second hand furniture (couches/chair/table) wouldn't have to scold the cat for clawing up the couch.
still miss that cat.

The big places (Milan, Venice, Florence, Rome, Naples), as well as the smaller places (Lago di Como off of Milan, off the coast from Naples into Capri, and the Amalfi coast). We went all the way southeast to Lecce as well.
