And being able to not have an intense hatred towards people when they release you. I'm watching Blue Bloods and this happened to a guy. I really don't think there would be a positive outcome to that

Exactly. I'm just glad I'll never be in that situation. I don't have good mental health and that shit would be the end of me. This show said there are programs to help with that but I'm not even willing to go to AA so hell no

Obviously not but the way your mind is working after an incident like that I'm just not sure. You spend those years knowing you're falsely accused. I bet it gnaws at you to the fullest extent

I think they get paid 250k per year in prison most states have compensation for wrongfully accused and imprisoned

If you let it eat at you the entire 10 years, well, you wouldn't even survive the full 10 years. 10 years is a long fucking time when you're just in a prison cell, you have to learn to let go of the anger to even function after a certain point. The most introverted people probably only really spend a few hours in their head a day. Prisoners spend nearly every waking moment in their own head, there's a lot of crazy shit prisoners have overcome mentally while in prison. And letting go of the anger doesn't mean that you let go of the entire incident either.

The worst thing for me would be if a friend or family member passed away before I was exonerated. You'd hope that deep down they knew you were innocent the whole time but never having them see the outcome for real would be heartbreaking.

I agree but they can visit you in prison. Do you think they wouldn't believe you're innocent?

This is why I dont mess around with girls I barely know, strangers, one night stands, or any weird shit with alcohol involved without asking for consent first. People are really stupid. They make choices that lead to really bad situations.

They're just desperate to get on with their lives. Holding on to that extremely negative baggage won't do them any good, and in such a hostile environment, I'd imagine they get real good at filtering out any bullshit in their system, or just break down and give in.

I'd imagine in a rape charge some would and some wouldn't. Most would obviously like to believe it's not true but if you've been locked up for it there's probably at least a few pieces of evidence that would make people second guess how they think of you, regardless of your innocence.

Yeah prison would literally kill me. Or id just be so angry id end up constantly adding yo my sentence in prison and never be someone who could function in society again.

On the upside youd probly get a nice big settlement out of it eventually. But thats assuming you arent totally broken and still wouldnt be any kind of real restitution.
