I thought advanced hyperspace tracking technology was something that was rare 30 years later in the TLJ....how does every bounty hunter have one?

Yah, this is what bothered me the most from the show.
Spoilers
When they first found Baby Yoda, I kind of thought it was tracking the egg or something. Then I think one of the gild members or the empire remnant dude said it knows if the target is alive or some shit. So it would mean that it's somehow in/on Baby Yoda. And even when the egg is destroyed it's able to track them across the Galaxy, so it seems like that would be the case. However, when Mando and the newbie gild member go to the desert on speeders, the bounty tricked them by placing the fob on a corpse. A simple explanation would be to say that Baby Yodas tracker is different than the desert bounty's, but that's kind of lazy. Especially since how the audience isn't given any indication that it could be different.
AND. For the final episode, why did Mando think Baby Yoda and Kwill (sp?) could go undetected on the planet with all the empire remnants around? All they had to do was use a fob tracker and blow up Baby Yoda using a TIE.

Answer: idk and I don't think the show explains. Unfortunate that a key piece of how the show happened/continues isn't well understood.

AFAIK they didn't ever explain how they work. It's one of a few things that bugs me with the series. The Force can be waved off as space magic because that's basically what it actually is, but when they gloss over technical stuff like that, it irks me.

This is fair.

I'm kind of the opposite and accept science fiction for what it is.. fiction.

I never seek out explanation or reasoning behind fictional things.

Well it's just kinda strange in Star Wars. Why didn't Vader use one of these to track down Leia when she escaped, for instance? It seems to hone in on the person itself without a tracker.

Not to mention Star Wars has had a long history of actually going pretty deep into the workings of the technology throughout the galaxy.

I legitimately never even thought about it. I'm just being honest.

Well, tbh, when it comes to EU stuff (and even moreso to Disney SW), it's honestly best just to not think about these things.

Maybe they track down specific lifeforms? They have to know about Yoda and the alien species he's from. But then again they act like the Force is some foreign concept in the series. I dunno. I never questioned it.

Luckily the tracker only seems to give you a Hotter/Colder signal beep.

As to what factor they are tracking, who knows.

If I was a betting person, there would be a sub-dermal RFID chip injected into the target that can reflect back the information.

We basically have more questions than answers at this point.

Why were a group of nikto mercenaries in possession of The Child in the first place?

Why did the doctor want him alive but The Client didn't care if he died?

Who hired IG-11 and why did THEY want The Child dead?

How do the tracking fobs work?
