That is not clever and it doesn't prove anything except that if they want to make a post looking like an idiot they can do it effectively.
And yet the only one looking like an idiot is you. Which again is the point. His entire point is it's a reference to jesus and your "counter" was ya well you think your the only one who figured it out. Not realizing, you made his point.

Every one within this topic has come to same conclusion, because there isn't any mystery to it. It didn't serve any plot significance, it wasn't treated with any meaningfulness, it just exist to further the "chosen one" narrative. It's why the closest to an arguement against it being a Christian making a jesus reference is that it might not be with no alternative explanation to why on earth it happened.

Which again, is the entire point. And knowing devsbro he probablly isn't actually offended but is bored waiting to go to bed and knew the angstheist like you cant resist showing off how "smart" you are.

Lucas had to be trolling at that point.

What's the point of a Christ metaphor in a story about space Buddhists? And why is it the bad guy who is of a virgin birth? On every level, it's a bad idea for the Star Wars universe. I dislike rape plots, but I'd rather Anakin's mother have her memories erased of the encounter because at least that would make sense in-context.

If it isn't lore breaking, nothing else could be. You might as well go the Spaceballs route and have characters interacting with their stunt doubles.

I don't think he was trolling. I think he was just an uninspired writer at that point who had no one to bounce off his bad ideas with.

The more I think about it, the more I feel like George Lucas sabotaged the prequel trilogy.

The time spent working on and promoting Star Wars is one of the reasons his first marriage came to an end. Also, his typecasting as the Star Wars guy left him virtually unable to pursue other projects with any success. This wasn't the film he wanted to be known for. This was a kid's movie and a tribute to the Flash Gordon film serials. And like many a creative artistic, he found himself inseparably chained to his project.

I wouldn't be surprised if the prequel trilogy was an act of revenge. Speaking of my own childhood, I think it'd be fun to direct a movie based off of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or Super Mario Bros.. But if I found myself forced to make that same movie over and over again, I'd be sick of it and ready to lash out.

The virgin birth plus the "prophecy" are the main things that damaged the legacy of Star Wars. It retroactively made the original trilogy worse. Now people are mad at the sequel trilogy because "It made the prophecy pointless!" and I just want to say that the prophecy was always hammy bullshit shoved in because George Lucas wanted to make his story seem more poignant.

Wait what where did this happen?

Wait if this explanation already existed why they hell didn't they use it for Rey.
It was detailed in the Darth Plagueis novel.

The thing that annoys me most about the 'chosen one' is that it basically shits on how Yoda talks about the Force in ESB.

His lessons sound like they'd work for anyone who'd want to learn and believe in themselves. Hell that's the entire point of Yoda to begin with. That even some weird little frog man finds power through the Force.

Man that honestly makes me even more frustrated over TROS. What a missed opportunity.

Rey being created via the Force to stop Palpatine after his resurrection would actually be something that would tie up the ST nicely and would also retroactively improve the whole Skywalker bloodline focus.

Although one issue is that Palpatine does mention the Dark Side of the Force has the power to create life but the series has overlooked stuff a lot worse than that to make sense.

Just because Jesus had a virgin birth doesn't mean no fiction can touch the concept ever.
Huh. I wonder if Anakin's burning makes him some sort of anti-Christ analogy.

The whole son of God thing is such a common theme there is an entire Wiki page on it:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miraculous_births

He may have been referencing Christianity but it neither started with or was unique to it.
