They'll get a bonus, or they realize they didn't spend as much as they usually do. Then they HAVE TO spend it. They have nothing they even want or need at the moment, and they'll just go shop until they find some way to throw it away. Like it becomes a personal mission for them, and they spend tons of energy to find something to spend it on.
