I don't think it's impossible, certainly in our lifetime. Once our generation are the ones largely in power in the next fifteen to twenty years there will certainly be a large amount of atheists in politics...

The separation of church and state was to protect churches from governmental intrusion. People today often misinterpret their intentions the opposite way. Our original laws were always based around the 10 commandments and everyone in office swore oaths upon the Bible.

Even if that was true, it shouldn't stay that way. We shouldn't be a Christian nation. Not all americans are Christian and we shouldn't base laws on Christian theology

I feel like any openly non-Christian major candidate won't happen for the next 100 years. I think we've had a few that didn't really ever talk about it, but anyone going openly against the "norm" would likely be shunned. Even if people become less likely to make their religion part of their personality, I think it's going to be part of their decision making for generations.

Laws based on the Christian theology are good for everyone even they aren't Christian

The ten commandments are rules everyone can follow

Not really

They are kind of vague and sometimes stupid, meanwhile the obvious ones are obvious

Dont kill and steal are good

But coverting shit Is the basis of capitalism

Keep sunday holy as a law? wut

no other gods before him? thats bad for any non Christian and pointless in law

Honor your parents? even if they beat, rape, manipulate and torture you?

I dont get why they are on court walls. Imagine your dad raped you 200 times when you were 6 years old, then you take him to court and have to set next to a plaque telling you to honor him
