I can understand jumping from 59/60Hz to 144 is a big jump, that's more than double... but 165 doesn't seem that much more than 144

For the analogy to work, it would be me accepting that 2 carats is more expensive than 1 carat, but wondering why 2.25 carats is so significantly more expensive.
