Current Events > Can somebody explain why BL3's story is so much worse than BL2's (Borderlands)?

Maybe it's just because I've played so much BL2, but the story in that game really isn't very good or all that interesting. Like, some stuff that happens in BL3 is kinda lame, but I don't really get why people are so damn negative about it.

I mean, alright. How about this question then: what is so good about BL2's story? Like, it's better than BL3, sure, but nothing all that interesting actually happens. Maybe it's just that BL2 was harmless but BL3 actively pissed people off?

I only played about half of BL3, but I haven't laughed hardly as much like I did from BL2. I agree with TC, the story hasn't really grabbed me, and I didn't enjoy it as much so far.

I thought the Calypso Twins were fine as they developed, but then the game just kind of hurries up and ends. And a certain character doesn't seem to earn their development.

I found myself chuckling a decent amount compared to BL2.

Haha, honestly they did every returning character dirty imo. Except maybe Ellie and Moxxi.

I actually thought a lot of what happens on Eden-6 pretty entertaining/funny.

I think it's pretty obvious there are some dropped plot elements regarding the Calypsos in the end game.

BL2 had an amazing villain, good characters development and I loved the ending. But in BL3, the whole story felt rushed. Certain fan characters sadly get the shaft, a boring character also takes the mantle. The Calypso Twins felt rushed, and they did Troy dirty when a certain part happens.

Both had horrible stories. BL3 just had a lot more unlikeable characters (that's saying something) and the player character's accomplishments are stolen by everyone's least favorite siren for the second time lmao

Mainly irritating Ava hogging so much glory. They seem to leave out or minimize several other established and well liked characters just so she could seem more important. They basically pulled a Poochie with her.

I honestly felt like Ava was barely even there. Like, my two main gripes would be:

1) Lilith's personality totally changed for whatever reason. She basically became Roland, except super incompetent.
2) Why did all of the Crimson Raiders leave with no explanation? Like, why are Brick, Mordecai, and Tina working for Jacobs? Maybe there's a side quest about it, but whatever. I get that there are a lot of characters to handle, and they wanted to do new ones instead of bring back old ones, but it just doesn't feel natural. It would have just made way more sense if the Crimson Raiders disbanded for whatever reason, but some came back exclusively to fight the Calypsos or something.

Exactly, they had to specifically leave out and reduced the presence of tons of characters so she'd be the one there when Lilith leaves Sanctuary to her. They're pushing her as Lilith's replacement when so many more suitable people should have been around.
