Its fucked up. George literally doesnt care. How this was on network tv baffles me. He basically killed his wife over a laugh track

susan is who i am talking about

I do recall that being pretty fucked up. Isn't he basically just like "The stamps for our wedding invitations were poison? Way out, baby! George is back!"

Cause Susan was crampin George's style big time.
It fits George's character perfectly.
This is the same guy who pushed people out of his way when there was a small kitchen fire lol.

I was fine with it, sure as fuck better than most sitcomes, especially any today that is so bland and safe.

I love dark humor especially when it's unexpected

However, killing off Maude Flanders seemed pretty random.
like, why her of all people? it was if they wanted to be controversial while also playing it safe

Oh yeah, it's not like I have a problem with it either. It is just unusually dark for Seinfeld of all shows. George went straight up sociopath in those episodes where he was wanting to get away from Susan.

Karma did get him back though, he was all but forced to sit on the board of the Trust her parents set up in her name. That provided no small amount of discomfort for him.

The only part of her death he was upset at, was when he got none of her money because they weren't married yet, and it got put into the susan fund lol.

Was this a random thought or are you watching through the series, TC? I've thought about going back and seeing how it holds up watching it through adult eyes, I was a teenager when it ended.

Basically to play it safe. And Maude was basically an accessory to Ned himself more than her own character. Nothing was gained or lost by killing her. AND it let them do more with Ned as a character than "guy who is really pious" for a while. Given his proximity to the Simpson Family, you sort of want their neighbor to be funny.

meh, this was the beginning of Ned's transition from "friendly Christian neighbor" to "crazy fundie widower"

his character did not benefit, and they could easily have developed Maude more than they did

I did the same thing a couple months ago. Watched the WHOLE series.
Being in my 30s now, the episodes are even funnier and I can relate more.

It's because her voice actress quit the show

The VA wanted a raise because her commute was too long and Fox said no so she quit.
