Honestly the best thing about VIII's battle system is that you can get stronger without needing to fight or grind so you can minimize random encounters if you wish.

Yes, of course, because after more than 25 years of gaming and more than 800 games beaten, some of which are considered "tough", I am not good enough to play a turn-based RPG. Because of course.
