Origins is better about telling its story, and I think that world feels a bit more varied.

Odyssey, though, was more fun to play. They added a lot of mechanics that make progression and quests feel rewarding, and combat was less of a slog if my stealth fell short.

I haven't beaten odyessy yet but I had a lot of fun playing origins. The lore of ancient Egypt fits what assassin's Creed does more than ancient Greece for me. Especially if you're not gonna have all the legendary philosophers as characters.

Talking to Socrates or Plato for missions would be so cool lol

Most of the hardcore ac fans, including myself, prefer origins.

Odyssey is much more of a grind, but had better combat. Odyssey feels like a single player mmo with f2p mechanics.

Origins has a better story, the second best main character in the series, excellent dlc, a more varied world, etc..

I enjoyed Origins a lot more. Odyssey is a slog to play, the world is way too big and the grinding isnt very fun, and I don't like the boat stuff

It wouldn't be so bad if the boat stuff was more than a distraction, like how black flag and rogue made it an in depth thing. Odyssey features it prominently, but its not in depth at all, and is always ridiculously easy and just tedious busy work.

Everything in odyssey is grindy busy work.

I know you said you haven't beaten it but have you even gotten to Athens? Socrates appears pretty early on.

Origins is a better realized game, but Odyssey is massive and that damn Sparta kick never gets old. Odyssey also has F all to do with Assassin's Creed

Oh it does. It definitely does. But it gets really, really bad. Especially in the DLC, which goes completely off the fucking rails.

It's an extremely grindy game, especially towards the end and in endgame. The level cap is 99, and after a while, the final tier of upgrades cost so much you're essentially required to buy microtransactions or spend literally days worth of game time to get them.

Odyssey is basically ghost recon wildlands/breakpoint but with swords.
