In your experience


I was thinking about this the other day when everyone turned on Oxhorn because they found out he was against gay marriage when he was in college.

And Enimem gets flack for the same thing.

Kid Rock too gets dunked on for being conservative.

Half of Hollywood gets blasted for being liberal.

That bad joke of a game Yuka-Laylee removed JonTron's voice acting because he opposed illegal immigration

etc etc

And it just makes me wonder why people care.

Not about the issues obviously but about the performers. Surely Rap God is either a good song or it isn't, surely Crash is either a good movie or it isn't.

Why do the political/Personal views have any effect on the quality of the product? I never heard a song or watched a youtube video and thought "Before I decide if I like this, does s/he agree with me on what the taxation should be for big businsess?"

But I feel like a minority there

It's a case by case thing. If there's someone who's promoting views I find disgusting, I might still watch/listen to their work -- so long as I don't have to give them a penny in royalties.
