Just because a game sells good doesn't mean that it's good.

I can't speak on Death Stranding, but Pokemon Sword/Shield are mediocre games that cut way too much out (not just Pokemon) while offering very little in return, and the game is even easier with far less exploration than ever before.

IMO, the Wild Area and Dynamax battles are great additions to the game that more than makes up for anything cut. And complaining about the game being easy is trivial. The game has always been easy anyway you spin it, making it a little easier more or less does nothing.

Can't speak about the pokemon game, but Death Stranding is very clearly still a divisive game. A lot about it that many just not enjoy or want to put up with "before it gets good" where as some love the style of game it is. A very innovative game at least, but definitely not a game suited for everyone.

I've never actually played it myself, but from what I've seen of it pretty much everyone said "it gets good after the first 10 hours" and lots of people don't care to play through something unenjoyable. Then the general gameplay of it may simply not be for everyone as well.

Some people are prepared to play through a bad start though, and the style of game is clearly enjoyable to some people as not the only one like it.

As someone with fifty hours into death stranding, I disagree with people saying "wait ten hours". The game does a really good job of starting arduous and gradually opening up newer and better tools to make your life easier, and it feels extremely rewarding when that happens. I think the game is good from the get go and only gets better as it goes on!

That's fair. Lots of people don't like the arduous start and progressing to having more and more. Largely a preference with that, I guess!

Eh, not really. Critics/Awards often mean very little. Can be biased by fanboys or haters purposely voting for other things and critics value themself is vastly overstated.

Oh yeah, you won't hear me saying "Death Stranding should be played by all!", because the game is real damn divisive. I was highly curious prior to release and was digging the vibe it gave off and it paid off for me. I could easily see others saying "what the hell is this garbage" which is fair. I just haven't played anything like it so I really appreciate it.
