Not that hard really. I'm turning 45 soon and it has never been a driving factor in my life.

High School - Didn't ask girls out because what if they said no.
College - Didn't ask girls out because what if they said yes and I had zero dating experience.

Just becomes a state of being after a point. Sure, it would be nice to see what it is like, but I compare it to visiting another country. Curious, but not enough to work towards making it happen.

I'm turning 30 very soon

I was extremely shy and anxious but I tried flirting with a buncha girls in College and it went absolutely nowhere because I'm kinda ugly/have terrible social skills. In all honesty, I'm not driven by sex at all. I am driven by companionship. I am a 34 male btw. When I was 18 I nabbed a 16 year old gf. ofc we broke up, but when I was 22 I got a girl who was also 22. We stayed together for 6 years but it was never meant to be because of a catastrophe that happened around year 2 or 3. Now I'm with my wife and we are happy. Sex is good but it isn't the striving goal in our relationship. There is something to measurably happy about having a companion who you can talk to, laugh with, experience events with. At the end of the day, the sex is a bonus. But it should never be the only thing. And in my situation the sex is because of love. I love her and thus want to have the close personal connection.

You know, my boyfriend is extremely similar. He's not much of a horndog or anything like that, but he definitely loves having a companion to share his life with. I think he views sex as a bonus, too.

Maybe it's immaturity or personality, but I'm much more focused on sex. Like, I really like it and tend to put a lot of emphasis on its importance to me and how much I want to do it. It's a bit of a point of contention in our relationship, but not all the time. I don't know if I'll ever change my attitude, but I know his companionship is more important to me than just random hookups.
