I'm around 30, and it's messing with my head. My 20s were rough and I'm nowhere near where I'd like to be as a person. The life I'd like to live hasn't even begun yet, and I feel like my youth is just gone. I recall when I was younger that I didn't feel someone got old until around 45 or 50. Is that how people generally feel these days or am I delusional?

Traditional stereotype of midlife crisis is mid to late forties. Divorcing your wife, buying a sports car and being a sugar daddy for a 21 year old with daddy issues who gives you a bj every morning.

Damn TC, I feel like I could have made this exact topic. Everything you said really echoes my own sentiments about aging and feeling like I'm nowhere near where I want to be in life.

The other thing I don't know how to deal with is becoming worse at things, or losing what you already have. Like imagine losing your hair, eyesight getting worse, getting weaker or more out of shape, having more pain, etc. I've talked to so many people about it and they all say "You adjust, you get used to it" but it's not happening for me. I can't seem to get over not being young and invincible anymore, because general youthfulness and vigor was mainly what made my life worth living in the first place.

Worldwide, the average life expectancy at birth was 71 years (70 years for males and 72 years for females) over the period 20102015 according to United Nations World Population

So across the globe, 35 for males and 36 for females. For Western countries you can add a few years.

The eyes go practically overnight. I mean literally. I could read my phone; a week later I no longer could read my phone. Now I wear Progressives (because Ive been extremely nearsighted since I was 10).

The close vision goes between 40 and 45, typically. Thats when you know youve hit middle age.
