at least they dont own the rights to whatever product they are drawing or writing about, so if they have awful ideas, chances they wont become a reality

and its not like everyone that DOES own the rights have good ideas, unless you want to tell me why bliss from that ppg reboot was good

and then there is george lucas, who created Star Wars and indiana Jones, yet everyone HATES his newer ideas for them

People get hyper defensive about their writing in general. Creative writing exercises (sadly, fan characters and fanfiction falls under this category) just amps it up.

Sorry but if your "OC" is derived from an already established work it's not original.

They'll straight up want people dead for pairing up fictional characters that conflict with their own fantasies.

Including the creators of said character sometimes.

It's so funny how 99.99% of all of tumblrs ships are all gay as well. As if hetero pairings are anathema to them.

My Naruto Fanfiction is a Sasuke/Hinata situation, and let me assure you that the Naruto/Hinata shippers are just as bloodthirsty as Naruto/Sakura fans when something contradicts their worldview.

FC's as in Fan Characters because that's what they are.

Now that isn't to say that an FC can't become an OC. I mean I have several characters of my own like that but as long as they have that established series attached to them they will always be a fan character.

but that type of thing happens officially all the time
