After having so many near misses with people clearly distracted by phones, I'm actually a huge supporter of this. Not only will it help improve behaviour and reduce accidents, those who get caught help pay more tax to fund the roads/etc.

That's legal/permitted here and I also use that. The issue is those people who are texting/surfing Instagram/etc whilst driving and because they're doing a combination of touching/interacting and swiping and looking down, they are significantly distracted and not focused on the road... assuming they even have a hand on the wheel. --- If you can understand this, I'm 2/cosC for you. ... I'm no fan of big brother watching, but I hate oblivious drivers. Especially 18 wheelers that decide a headset is unnecessary, that's already illegal but I've seen a lot of them distracted by their phone
