Which was why Luthor (if memory serves) was sending monsters to destroy all life so they could keep the base universe but start with new ai instead of scraping everything which they ended up trying at the end. @Mistere_Man Not really, he wanted to destroy them because of the symbology stuff implanted into 3 of the party members that made them a danger to people in Luther's world. It was him trying to protect his people, but in a way that was full on universe wide genocide. There was never really a script for people to follow besides general things pushing for how life would evolve and the general instinct to survive. Luther actually was just going to destroy the entire game, he didn't care at all about saving anything from it. There's plenty of final fantasy story details that we only know of because of the ultimania guides, they're canon but sometimes bring up details not in the game itself (at least, not to the level of detail they could have been).
