Crystal Holt, the Iowa Heifer and History Teacher who was suspended for using the n-word in class has been allowed BACK to work.

She was placed on admin leave when Denison High School students staged a walkout to protest her use of the word

The 23 year veteran teacher said it happened on November 15 as part of a lesson on racism

She said he used the word when a student asked about capital punishment in American History class

She said "During that discussion, i was asking them, Well what do you mean by hate crimes? Why did you put it on your board? One student said, Because in the reading it says he used pejorative terms"

She said she clarified the difference between pejorative and derogatory meanings and that's when he dropped the bomb of the n-word

She was called into the dean of student's office to explain herself and was later put on leave

An investigation showed she had no malicious intent to say it yet some students claim it wasn't the first time she said it in class

The district said they will work with the teacher to implement necessary chagnes to make the transition back to the classroom incase students hold another protest against the cow

Holt in the meantime said "A teacher trying to teach HAS to use that word in order to instruct and to help get rid of racism in any educational setting. That wouldn't require an apology because you're trying to instruct and using the n-word is required to in my lessons".

Whether or not shes used the word before is entirely irrelevant if shes always used it under similar circumstances, i.e. always without malice.

The fact that you can't even point out certain biological facts these days (and on this very site) without some people screaming for your head should show you we're beyond the point as a society where the intention of a speaker is more important than the fragile feelings of a tiny percent of the population.
