I have a little free time now and I need something to do. The other option is finish Fire Emblem 3 Houses, but I got a couple hours in and wasn't really feeling it.

I enjoy it a lot. There are a lot of QOL improvements since white. But the routes are quite linear and don't leave much to you to explore.

This. The dungeons are also very small and very few in number, and there are no additional dungeons that you don't visit during the main story.

Also, the game is super easy, since there aren't too many NPC trainers but you still end up overleveled because the game forces you to keep EXP Share on.

So, enjoyable, especially if you haven't looked up any of the new Pokemon (and in your (TC) case, you may have three generations worth of Pokemon that you haven't seen), but overall the weakest main series title yet.
