My phones always end up with a major technical issue. My Galaxy S7's charging port broke, so it could only charge if you held the cable in the port at a weird angle. My S6 became very slow and the battery would lose power rapidly, like 20% in the span of minutes just on stanby with all apps closed.

It works out to about once a year.

Major problems. Which my battery is starting to be. I can't do my normal Pokemon Go route without it dying. It's only an hour and a half.

Usually 2 years, but I hope to get a few extra years out of my Galaxy S9. Got it 16 months ago and still runs as well as it did on day one.

I'm about due for a new one. This phone is a total piece of shit. I'm going to change providers and get a little $50 one. I figure it'll last me a year or two if I take good care of it.

Yeah. Sometimes mine will get to like 20% and then just start counting down like a timer. Other times it'll do that and get stuck on a random number. At times it's went from 20% to dead in 3-5 minutes

Yeah, sucks for Pokemon, cause I been playing it while walking my dog for like 4 years now. Not playing Go during feels like like Im missing something lol. I like it cause I can still pay attention to him while I play. I have him off leash most the time.

It's more so laziness. I did a splurge purchase for 250$ and returned that item, so I got the money. I just don't want to move all my stuff over.

I'm using an S7 and I typically keep an external battery on me now. However, security updates ceasing are when I typically look to upgrade.

When I need one. I got my current one when I moved to tennesse in 2016. I don't remember when I got the last one, but i'm pretty sure I had it for at least 4-5 years.

When it breaks. I got the Galaxy S4 for $0 on a plan a year after it released and kept it for four years. Only got a new phone because I broke the screen. Got an S8 for $0 two years ago, hope to keep this one for another two at least.

When my contract ends. I keep my phones in great condition so I am able to resell them for a decent chunk of their initial price.

I use my phone for work, so I have to have a good one.

Option 4 - not even because of stinginess but because of general laziness, like others have said ITT.
