I think they're doing an okay job but they could always do better. It's good to have them around at least to deter crimes - but sometimes they make mistakes.

I've been lucky to not ever piss a cop off, but I did get a bullshit ticket from an asshole cop a few years ago who tried to throw the max punishment at me for doing a 'rolling stop' at a stop sign in a neighborhood with a 25 MPH speed limit with zero other cars in the ENTIRE neighborhood.

Shitty $120 ticket for that. I literally had no idea why I was pulled over when he asked me if I knew why.

Dick.

Actually that cop's nickname was Officer Dick (real name was Rick) because he was the police officer that was assigned to work the high school and middle school I went to. So he was always around and always a no fun allowed kinda dickhead. Couldn't even make a joke with him or anything. 100% serious 100% of the fucking time.

Still mad about that shitty ticket.

99.99% percent of them are good, follow their oath to uphold the Constitution and do not consider themselves above the law or superior to civilians. Unfortunately, the media tries to paint the 0.01% of them that are bad as representative of most of or all of the police force.

Like you shouldn't trust cops in general, but I also think that people wouldn't get in as many bad situations with cops if they just kept their mouths shut and treated them with some respect.

i feel like there are some good ones and some bad ones but there is too much corruption and bias in the system, and the good ones don't call it often enough, which leads to injustice....i also think that just because someone chose to become a cop doesn't mean you NEED to respect them. let me see how you act on the job first. i feel like some people hold mcdonalds employees to higher standards and that's fuckin insane.
