I gotta admit, if you put your shrimp in soup, pasta or etc and I have to pick it up out of that with my fingers to pull the tails off, I will not be returning to your restaurant.

this is my wife's biggest beef at restaurants
i'm not sure why they don't de-tail them, but i'm guessing there's a reason

I once ordered pad thai with chicken and shrimp in it, and the shrimp still had their tails on them. I also wondered what logic there was in that. (This Thai place is also "halal", so it doesn't offer pork options.)

Now if the shrimp are themselves the dish, like in such capacity that you're supposed to eat them with your hands, tails on is acceptable.

But if you're supposed to use a fork or spoon, and the tails are on, you clearly just have never eaten food before.

Until a couple years ago, I didn't really know that people didn't eat the tails. I always just ate it all together. I still do

I knew they sold de-tailed ones, but it never really clicked.

Crunch crunch

You know what, does it even? I would expect it to be like biting paper or something, where like, it doesn't really tear but it just sorta bends so that it goes vertical in between your front and back teeth.

Ive heard plenty of people do it when theyre fried. People do it even when not fried. I think its all weird.

And I 100% agree TC. Shrimp might be my #1 and I despise having to deal with those tails. Let me just eat my spaghetti without having to manhandle my food.

In soup, I understand. In pasta, I'm unlikely to roll it up and eat at same time, so I can totally pick it out.
At least, at the one place I go to that does that.
Darn good, haven't been in a while, outta go.
