i'm in the post-game

and while if it had ended after the defeat of Mordegon i'd have declared it my favorite of the series (i've also beaten 1-9)

but damn there are something i really don't like about part 3

all the sacrifices were made meaningless Veronica should have stayed dead
Erik and Mia's story was much worse after going back in time

Sylvando's big gay parade now didn't happen :/

and also i easily beat the final boss but now i'm way underleveled for all the stuff that comes after
forcing me to grind heavily which i hadn't really had to do much before
And was a welcome change from a series that can be too grindy
but you guess i've gotta grind 30+ plus levels to see the "true ending"
really a lot of this 3rd act feels like bloat

also the forge sucks and is tedious

But really this has by far the best cast in DQ history
it's a charming game that overcomes its cliches through that charm and sense of adventure and the fun cast

i really don't fucking want to grind a ton of levels to see the TRUE ending
ugh

the boss you need to beat to get the true ending in dq viii also requires a couple levels of grinding
but a lot of people say to beat the true final boss you should be maxed out on levels and i'm level 55 and are you fucking kidding me

kinda of a rant but i'm so tired

it would be nice if Square released that hypothetical offline DQ X in the near future

apparently the best way to grind is through pep powers which is so tedious

why can't there be a fucking slime hill like in dq 8 and i can just beat the shit out of metal slimes there

also Serena with Veronica's abilities was such an awesome and useful character

now i can't have this awesome healer that also has oomph and other spells

yeah i beat it, did nearly every major thing in the game and then got the true ending
part 3 kinda sucks really
it wasn't needed at all
boring bloat that erases everything bad that happened for a magic happy ending
it all feels so cheap now

i'm p much done with the game cuz i really have no interest in grinding levels to access the rest of the post-game content

honestly i can't help but be kind of disappointed. but this was probably my most hyped game of the year so i went in expecting a lot. there are some things about the game that i just really really don't care for but it still contains a lot of charming stuff the series is known for.

all in all the game doesn't really hold a candle to V or VIII but it's still good.

Yeah the final arc is trash. I mean, I'm glad there is extra content but it shouldn't come at the cost of ruining the story of the game.

I stopped right when they set you off to do the trials because Pokemon was coming out. I'm sad it undoes the whole of act 2, was hoping it would somehow recapture some of those character moments. I'll probably get to it some day but I'll probably turn off the draconian modes first.
